The Riceville Public Library is seeking an engaged energetic community-focused leader to serve as our next Library Director. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee all day-to-day operations of a vital community resource and help perpetuate its continued vitality, growth, and impact.
The Director works closely with the Library Board and City leadership to ensure high-quality service, relevant programming, manifold literacy opportunities, and compliance with state requirements. The Library Director is considered a full-time City of Riceville employee, working approximately 30-32 hours per week.
The Director manages all daily activities within the library and is responsible for the overall administration, operations, and community engagement of the Riceville Public Library. Excellent customer service skills are a must.
High school diploma is required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. 2-4 years of previous experience in a library setting or educational field is preferred. This position includes IPERS and health insurance benefits. Salary based on $18-$22/hour depending on qualifications. Position and salary subject to a six-month review.
